Dubai: When people think of Burj Khalifa, they often think of records: the world’s tallest building, the dazzling New Year’s Eve fireworks, or Dubai’s iconic skyline.
But now, the tower has added another title to its list - the world’s most Instagrammable landmark.
According to the latest Instagram Attraction Index, Dubai’s Burj Khalifa ranked first globally, supported by more than 10 million tagged posts and around 1.1 million monthly searches. But while millions of visitors have photographed the tower over the years, some of the landmark’s most striking images have come from His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Defence, and Chairman of the Executive Council of Dubai.
Completed in 2010, the Burj Khalifa was developed by Emaar Properties and designed by architect Adrian Smith of Skidmore, Owings & Merrill. Rising 828 metres into the sky with more than 160 floors, the tower has become one of the most reconisable structures in the world.
Sheikh Hamdan's Instagram feed frequently features the Burj Khalifa, from lightning strikes with the tower in the foreground during storms to surreal fog-covered skyline scenes. Take a look at some of the most iconic shots taken by Sheikh Hamdan.
