Dubai: Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Foundation for Medical and Educational Sciences and the Knowledge Fund Establishment have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to strengthen the identification and development of gifted students across the Dubai Schools project.
The partnership will establish a framework for cooperation aimed at identifying gifted learners, building the capacity of education professionals, developing a specialised database for gifted students and raising community awareness about gifted education.
The agreement was signed by Dr Khalifa Al Suwaidi, Executive Director of Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Foundation for Medical and Educational Sciences, and Abdulla Mohammed Al Awar, Chief Executive Officer of the Knowledge Fund Establishment.
Under the partnership, the Hamdan Giftedness Scale will be implemented across Dubai Schools to identify gifted students and enrol eligible learners in specialised programmes designed to nurture their talents and abilities.
The collaboration also includes training specialists in gifted education and identification practices, providing scientific and professional consultancy in giftedness, innovation and excellence, and sharing assessment outcomes and analytical insights to support educational planning.
Dr Al Suwaidi said the agreement represents an important step towards strengthening an integrated framework for identifying and developing gifted learners.
“We firmly believe that investing in people is the foundation of sustainable development, and that giftedness is one of the key drivers of a more competitive and prosperous future,” he said.
He added that the partnership aims to expand the use of scientifically validated tools, strengthen the capabilities of education professionals and support the development of programmes tailored to gifted students.
Al Awar said the partnership supports efforts to create educational environments that help gifted students realise their full potential and contribute to the economy of the future.
“We believe that identifying giftedness at an early stage and providing opportunities to nurture it are fundamental to preparing generations capable of innovation and competing in the economy of the future,” he said.
The agreement also includes cooperation on joint initiatives in giftedness, innovation and excellence, participation in scientific conferences and educational events, and the exchange of expertise and best practices.
The MoU supports Hamdan Foundation's efforts to build an integrated ecosystem for gifted education and reflects both organisations' commitment to fostering innovation, excellence and future-ready talent in the UAE.
