No ticket? No problem. UAE residents have a reason to visit Abu Dhabi’s Zayed International Airport, even if they are not travelling.
The airport has introduced its new Airport Pass campaign, allowing approved visitors to enter the airport without a boarding pass to enjoy its duty-free shopping, restaurants, cafés and leisure spaces.
Launched on April 18, the campaign will run for eight weeks, and the final date and timings are subject to change at the sole discretion of the airport authorities.
Here is all you need to know about the Airport Pass and how to apply for it.
What is the Airport Pass?
The Airport Pass is a visitor access pass that allows eligible guests to enter the airport for a limited period without holding a flight ticket.
Visitors who register successfully receive a digital PDF pass with a unique QR code, which must be shown and scanned at designated entry, retail and exit points.
Who can apply?
The Airport Pass is available to UAE nationals and residents. Children under 18 must be accompanied by an adult at all times.
What can visitors do inside?
According to the airport’s website, pass holders can browse the premium retail stores, shop for duty-free items (excluding tobacco and liquor) and dine at the airport’s restaurants and cafés.
Do you need to book in advance?
Yes. Entry is subject to pre-booked time slots.
If visitors need to change their slot, this can only be done on the same day of booking by contacting the airport support number – +97128055555 – in advance. Any approved change will require a new pass.
Free parking available — with conditions
Once you get the Airport Pass, you can also take advantage of complimentary parking for up to four hours at the airport, provided your total spend is above AED 200.
To qualify for the free parking, collect a parking voucher before leaving the airside area and present it at the parking exit.
In case your shopping amount is below AED 200, standard parking charges will apply.
