Sharjah: The Sharjah Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has announced a temporary partial closure of Al Taawun Street, along with traffic diversions, as part of ongoing works on the Al Taawun Tunnel development project at the existing roundabout.
The project aims to enhance the efficiency of the road network and improve traffic flow across the emirate.
Under the traffic diversion plan, vehicles heading towards Dubai and Al Nahda Bridge will be redirected via Al Corniche Street. Meanwhile, traffic coming from Al Nahda Bridge towards Sharjah will be diverted to the new Al Taawun Street, in line with approved alternative routes.
The changes are scheduled to take effect from Saturday, 13 June 2026.
The Authority has urged road users to follow the approved traffic diversions and directional signage, use alternative routes, and comply with safety instructions to ensure smooth traffic movement and reach their destinations safely without delays.
