UAE air defence systems engage with missiles and drone attacks from Iran on Friday

The UAE's air defence systems have engaged with missile and drone attacks originating from Iran, the Ministry of Defence said on Friday May8, 2026.

The ministry also confirmed that the sounds heard in various parts of the country on Friday morning were the result of the successful interception of ballistic missiles, cruise missiles, and drones, by UAE air defence systems.

UAE air defence systems have engaged with missiles and UAV threats from Iran, it said in a post on X platform.
