UAE Defence responds to three drones near Barakah Nuclear Plant
Authorities confirm no impact on safety as investigation into source of incident continues

Abu Dhabi: The UAE Ministry of Defence announced that the country’s air defence systems intercepted three drones that entered the nation’s airspace from the western direction on Sunday.
In a statement, the ministry said that two of the drones were successfully neutralised, while the third struck an electrical generator located outside the inner perimeter of the Barakah Nuclear Power Plant in the Al Dhafra region.
The ministry confirmed that investigations are ongoing to determine the source of the incident, adding that further updates will be provided once inquiries are completed.
It also reiterated the importance of maintaining readiness and preparedness to address any threats, stressing its commitment to safeguarding the country’s security, stability and national interests.
