Dubai: The UAE is expanding its new Wages Protection System with the addition of seven financial institutions, giving employers wider and more flexible options for paying workers’ wages.

The expansion is also designed to simplify the wage registration and transfer process by reducing the procedures and steps required, according to the UAE Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (Mohre).

Under the new system, employers can complete the process without visits or paperwork, while the amount of data that needs to be entered has been reduced by 90 per cent.

The changes are intended to improve the efficiency and reliability of wage payments while supporting stable employment relationships and protecting the rights of both employers and workers.
