UAE launches AI assistants across key government sectors

The UAE has launched the first batch of artificial intelligence assistants across several government sectors, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE, and Ruler of Dubai, announced in a post on social media platform X.

According to His Highness Sheikh Mohammed, the AI assistants will support areas including procurement, taxation, dealer happiness, and technical services.

“And during the retreat, we launched the first batch of artificial intelligence assistants in the fields of procurement and taxes, dealer happiness, and technical support,” His Highness Sheikh Mohammed said.

Federal AI programme expands

His Highness confirmed that a new batch from the Federal Artificial Intelligence Programme was also released as part of the initiative.

“We also released a new batch from the Federal Artificial Intelligence Programme,” His Highness Sheikh Mohammed stated.

He added that the programme is being developed under the leadership and supervision of His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President, Deputy Prime Minister, and Chairman of the Presidential Court, and national work teams.

Transforming government operations

The initiative forms part of a broader effort to transform government systems using AI. “What we will develop today under the leadership and supervision of Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed and the national work teams is not just a government project,” His Highness Sheikh Mohammed said. “Rather, it is a model that will inspire others.”

In a separate post, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed said more than 400 officials are participating in implementing plans to transform half of government services and operations through artificial intelligence.

Message on human-centred technology

His Highness emphasised that the UAE’s approach to artificial intelligence remains focused on improving quality of life. “Our message to humanity is that technology must serve the human being and elevate the quality of his life,” he said. “This is our clear and ongoing Emirati approach for the coming generations.”

National Retreat focuses on future government systems

The announcements were made during the UAE Government’s National Retreat held in Abu Dhabi, where senior officials reviewed and developed new government systems based on agentic AI technologies.

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed said the initiative supports the vision to position the UAE Government as a global leader in adopting artificial intelligence.
