Dubai: The UAE Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (MOHRE) has warned the public about the risks posed by deepfake technology, cautioning that some videos, audio recordings and images may appear genuine while being designed to deceive people.
In a post on its official social media platforms, the ministry said such content could be used to encourage individuals to share personal information or transfer money.
MOHRE urged the public to learn the key steps for verifying the authenticity of content and protecting their personal data and finances from fraud attempts.
The ministry's awareness campaign highlighted that fraudsters may use deepfake technology to create fake videos, voice recordings and images that appear to originate from officials or employees of the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation in an attempt to deceive members of the public.
