UAE President performs Eid Al Adha prayers at Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque
Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed joins senior leaders and worshippers in Abu Dhabi for Eid prayers
Abu Dhabi: UAE President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan performed the Eid Al Adha prayer this morning at Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque in Abu Dhabi.
Joining His Highness were His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President, Deputy Prime Minister and Chairman of the Presidential Court; His Highness Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi; His Highness Sheikh Suroor bin Mohammed Al Nahyan; His Highness Sheikh Nahyan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Chairman of Zayed for Good Foundation; His Highness Lieutenant General Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior; His Highness Sheikh Hamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan; His Highness Sheikh Omar bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Chairman of Zayed for Good Foundation; His Highness Sheikh Khalid bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Zayed Higher Organisation for People of Determination; His Highness Dr Sheikh Sultan bin Khalifa Al Nahyan, Adviser to the UAE President; His Highness Sheikh Theyab bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Chairman of the Presidential Court for Development and Fallen Heroes’ Affairs; His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Chairman of the Presidential Court for Special Affairs; His Highness Sheikh Zayed bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan; Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Tolerance and Coexistence; Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad bin Tahnoun Al Nahyan, Adviser to the UAE President, along with a number of sheikhs, officials and worshippers.
The Eid sermon addressed the value of honesty, its various forms, and its profound impact on both individuals and society. Under the title “Our Eid is Honesty and Sacrifice”, Dr Omar Habtoor Al Darei, Chairman of the General Authority of Islamic Affairs, Endowments and Zakat, said that honesty is the shortest path to trust and has the most enduring impact.
He explained that trust creates strength, through which societies achieve stability and civilisations are built. He added that the UAE leadership demonstrated sincerity in its intentions and unity in its resolve, establishing the nation on honesty from the very beginning and ensuring a strong foundation.
The preacher noted that honesty reflects a person’s loyalty to their homeland and sincerity in serving it. Through honesty, nations prosper and societies remain strong, while truthful individuals act as guardians of their countries through their actions.
He further explained that honesty includes safeguarding the nation’s interests, defending it and standing firmly against those who seek to harm it. It is also reflected in parents raising their children well, teachers remaining dedicated, employees performing their duties with integrity, and individuals striving to contribute to the nation’s continued progress.
Following the prayer, His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan exchanged Eid greetings with fellow worshippers.
He then joined accompanying sheikhs in reciting Al Fatihah in memory of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan.
