Dubai: The wind is picking up speed in the UAE today, bringing clouds full of rain to certain areas, and blowing dust in others.
The National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) forecasts fair to partly cloudy weather, with a chance of some convective cloud formation in northern, eastern and southern regions of the country. This means there is a likelihood of rainfall in areas stretching from Fujairah and Sharjah to Abu Dhabi and Al Ain today.
Low-30s temperatures
Meanwhile, temperatures are continuing to slide down, across the UAE.
Today, Ajman will see the highest temperature, of 36°C, while Dubai, Sharjah, Umm Al Quwain and Ras Al Khaimah will all peak at 35°C. Abu Dhabi will see a high of 34°C, while Fujairah will remain the coolest emirate, at 33°C.
Despite cooler climes, the NCM expects humidity to increase by nighttime and on Wednesday morning over some coastal and internal areas, with a probability of fog or mist formation.
Moderate sea conditions
Light to moderate winds, averaging speeds of 10 to 25km/h, will reach up to 45km/h in internal areas, and stir up dust. The NCM advises protecting yourself by staying indoors in such situations, and keeping doors and windows locked so dust doesn’t enter your homes or vehicles.
The NCM forecasts the following sea conditions in eastern and western regions:
Arabian Gulf: Slight to moderate sea conditions, with wave heights reaching up to two feet on-shore, and up to four feet off-shore.
Sea of Oman: Slight conditions, with gentle waves on-shore rising to two feet, and waves off-shore rising to three feet.
