Dubai: Beach weather continues across the UAE this weekend, with calm seas, light winds, and plenty of sunshine expected on Saturday and Sunday. Just be prepared for intense afternoon heat, especially in internal regions of the country.

Coolest and warmest places today

The National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) forecasts high temperatures over the next two days, with fair weather and low clouds over the east coast. Dubai is forecast to reach 43°C today, while Abu Dhabi and Sharjah will peak at 42°C. The hottest areas in the country will be recorded inland, with Al Ain expected to hit 45°C and Liwa 46°C.

If you would like to experience cooler climes, drive up to the mountainous regions of the UAE. The NCM forecasts the temperature range in this region to be between 31°C to 37°C.

Calm seas

Light to moderate winds, blowing from the southeast to northwest, will average speeds of 10 to 20km/h, occasionally reaching 30km/h, today and tomorrow.

With these gentle winds, sea conditions are expected to remain slight along both coasts. The Arabian Gulf will see wave heights of one to two feet onshore, and two to three feet offshore, while the Sea of Oman will experience similar gentle waves of one to three feet.

Sea conditions will remain slight to moderate all through the weekend, making it ideal for night-time visits to the beach.

Dust alert on Sunday

Calm weather will extend into Sunday, however by the end of the weekend, southwesterly to northwesterly winds are expected to strengthen at times, reaching up to 40km/h. The NCM cautions the probability of blowing dust on Sunday, particularly in exposed and western areas.
