Dubai: Rising humidity and dusty conditions are set to make the weather feel hotter across the UAE today, even as temperatures remain largely unchanged in the high 30s.

Dubai and Abu Dhabi are forecast to reach highs of 39°C, while winds of up to 40km/h could stir blowing dust in exposed areas, according to the National Centre of Meteorology (NCM).

The increase in moisture levels over the Arabian Gulf is expected to push humidity levels as high as 80% in coastal areas, creating muggy conditions and making temperatures feel warmer than they actually are.

Further inland, temperatures are expected to climb significantly higher, reaching 47°C in Liwa and 44°C in Al Ain, as summer conditions continue to strengthen across the country.

According to the NCM, light to moderate winds may reach speeds of up to 40km/h and cause blowing dust across parts of the UAE, particularly in open and exposed areas. Motorists are advised to exercise caution when travelling in dusty conditions.

The relative humidity is forecast to range between 55% and 80% in coastal areas and between 50% and 75% per cent in internal regions. With moisture levels increasing over the Arabian Gulf, residents may experience more humid and uncomfortable conditions, especially during the afternoon and evening.

Residents should stay hydrated and limit prolonged exposure to direct sunlight to reduce the risk of heat exhaustion.

Temperatures in Dubai and Abu Dhabi are expected to peak at 39°C before easing into the low 30s after sunset.

Sea conditions are expected to remain slight to moderate in both the Arabian Gulf and the Oman Sea for most of the day, with calm waters and gentle waves of up to two to three feet. However, the Arabian Gulf may become rough at times, with wave heights reaching up to six feet in deeper waters.
