UAE weather in May: How hot will it get? Mixed weather conditions expected, with highs of 40.7°C
May marks shift from spring to summer in the UAE, bringing hotter days, lower humidity, possible fog and occasional rain clouds

Dubai: Yes, it’s true – warmer days are here. Time for salad lunches, iced matchas, and a lighter wardrobe!
The weather moves firmly into summer territory, hence UAE residents can expect temperatures to increase as we move towards the summer solstice next month.
According to the National Centre of Meteorology, May is considered a transition month between winter and summer, and temperatures are expected to steadily rise across the country. As the sun moves further north of the equator, daylight hours will gradually increase, pushing up the temperatures in most areas.
How hot will the UAE get in May?
The NCM forecasts the mean air temperature in May to range between 30.6°C and 33.6°C.
Average daytime highs are expected to range between 37.3°C and 40.7°C, while average overnight lows are forecast between 24.3°C and 26.8°C.
Will it feel humid?
Humidity is expected to ease slightly compared with April, especially during the second half of May.
The mean relative humidity is forecast at 39%, which means conditions may feel a little drier than previous weeks, although coastal areas can still have humid conditions.
Fog and mist in early May
Residents can also expect some foggy and misty conditions, particularly during the first half of the month, over scattered areas of the country.
This is expected to reduce in the second half of the month, as temperatures continue to climb.
Is there a chance of rain?
Interestingly, the changes in weather patterns can also at times lead to rain during this month. The NCM said that weakening Siberian high pressure systems and weather depressions moving in from the east and west can sometimes increase cloud cover. If upper-level troughs extend across the region, they may trigger cloud formation and rain in some areas.
Will it be windy?
It is not expected to be very windy this month, with the mean wind speed forecast at 13 km/h.
