Dubai: The weather this week is expected to remain largely stable, with a gradual increase in temperature in the first half of the week, before a slight dip by Friday. However, changing wind conditions could bring humidity, dust and rougher conditions as the weekend approaches, according to the National Centre of Meteorolgy (NCM).

According to the Met Department, the mercury is expected to rise today, even though there will be some cloud build up, too. Temperatures along the coast are expected to hit 41°C, while in the interior regions it can go up to as high as 44°C.

Tomorrow, you can expect humidity to increase, especially in coastal areas, while the eastern part of the country can expect slightly cloudy conditions. Temperatures in the coastal area will go up to 42°C, while in the interior parts of the country, they are expected to go up to 45°C.

Will it feel hotter than it is?

According to Dr Ahmed Habib, a meteorology expert at NCM, the humidity is expected to increase in parts along the coast, like the area between Abu Dhabi and Ruwais. However, the rise will not be significant, so, in general, the feeling temperature will not be a lot higher than the actual temperature.

Towards the second half of the week, the weather will be fair in general and partly cloudy at times, and Friday will bring with it an ever so slight gradual drop in temperatures, as wind speeds increase to up to 40km/h. The highest temperature along the coast is expected to be 39°C, while in the interior parts of the UAE, temperatures will go up to 42°C.

On Saturday, winds are expected to pick up dust, with the sea getting rough as well. Temperatures will go up to 37°C along the coast, and 41°C in the interior region.
