Dubai: The new work week begins today, with classic summer weather across the UAE, as temperatures climb into the mid-to-high 40s.

According to the National Centre of Meteorology (NCM), today’s weather will be fair in general, with partly cloudy skies developing at times over eastern regions. Coastal areas and islands are expected to record highs between 37°C and 42°C, while internal areas will be significantly hotter, reaching 41°C to 47°C.
Among the major cities, Dubai is forecast to reach 42°C, Abu Dhabi and Sharjah 41°C, while Ras Al Khaimah will see 43°C. The hottest locations today are expected to be Liwa, at 47°C, and Al Ain, at 45°C.
The NCM forecasts light to moderate southwesterly to northwesterly winds blowing across the country today, and reaching speeds of up to 35km/h, providing a slight breeze at times and offering respite from the heat.
Moderate sea conditions
With temperate winds, you can expect sea conditions to be relatively calm throughout the day. The NCM expects both the Arabian Gulf and the Sea of Oman to remain slight to moderate, with wave heights of one to two feet. However, by night time, sea conditions are expected to be a little choppier than in recent days, with waves reaching up to three to four feet off-shore along both the eastern and western coasts of the country.
