Want to get bank work done during Eid Al Adha? Here’s what will and won’t work
While branches may remain closed, here are all the services that will be available through the long break

Dubai: Planning to transfer money or process cheques during the Eid Al Adha break? Some UAE banks have begun notifying customers about the services that will and will not be available during the extended Eid break.
With most bank branches expected to remain closed from Tuesday, May 26, until Friday, May 29, the following services may face delays during Eid holidays, according to an announcement made by RAKBank on its official website:
- Local transfers above AED 50,000
- Cheque processing
- WPS (salary) processing
- Direct debit transactions
- Direct Debit Instructions (DDIs)
- Foreign currency transfers
- Some loan and finance payment recoveries
- Central Bank cash withdrawal and deposit counter services
First Abu Dhabi Bank also stated in a notification on its website that transfers above AED50,000, cheque processing, WPS and direct debit transactions will be delayed during the holiday period.
RAKBANK also clarified that deposits made through ATMs during the holiday will be processed on the next working day and cheques and Direct Debit Instructions (DDIs) presented after 10am on Monday, May 25 will be cleared on Saturday, May 30.
Services that will continue working
According to announcements made by UAE banks, the following services will remain available during the Eid holidays:
- Mobile banking
- Online banking
- Digital banking services
- ATMs
- Smart cash deposit machines (CDMs)
- Transfers between accounts within the same bank
- Local AED transfers within specified limits
- Instant transfer services supported through eligible banking channels
- Credit card payments within supported limits
- 24/7 payment channels including Aani and IPI
Branch closures and reopening
Dubai Islamic Bank and RAKBANK both confirmed that branches will remain closed from Tuesday, May 26 to Friday, May 29, 2026.
According to the Central Bank communication shared with banks, “normal processing will resume on Saturday, May 30, 2026 for all payment systems and cash operations.”
