A private funeral for Whitney Houston is set for Saturday (February 18) in her hometown of Newark, New Jersey, at the church where she honed her singing skills as a child. The private, invitation-only service will be held at the New Hope Baptist Church. A family spokeswoman did not rule out the possibility of a separate public memorial service. The singer died at age 48 after she was found unconscious and underwater in a Beverly Hills hotel bathtub.

Sony Music has released a statement stating that the price hike on the U.K. iTunes of Whitney Houston's albums immediately after her death was a mistake. The move, which bumped the price of Houston's greatest hits album by more than 60 percent brought out the ire of many fans. The price change was reportedly the result of an error by a Sony employee in Britain. iTunes restored Houston's album price to its original amount on Sunday.

No matter what the price, analysts anticipate that Houston's albums will dominate the charts over the coming weeks. As with the 2009 death of Michael Jackson, Internet sales of Houston's songs have surged after her death. "Whitney Houston: The Ultimate Collection" and "Whitney - The Greatest Hits" were among the top three albums on iTunes on Monday.

On a more furry note, the Golden Collar Awards announced its top dog on Monday - and the big prize went to Uggie, the scene-stealer from "The Artist." It's the first year of the awards and proceeds from the event will go to animal rescue shelters. It hasn't been all positive for the 10 year old Jack Russell terrier, he has been snubbed by the Academy. He has not been asked to attend or participate in the Oscars.
