Saudi groom wins bet, trucks it to wedding

A Saudi bridegroom who was dared by friends to break long-standing social rules in the conservative Gulf Kingdom and go to his wedding by a truck won the bet when he surprised his challengers by arriving to the wedding hall in a big van.

A U-Tube film showed the unknown groom, wearing traditional wedding gown, was greeted by car horns and friends as he stepped out of the massive truck.

Arar newspaper, which published the film, said the groom won the bet but added it was not known whether the bet was for SR5,000 or SR45,000 or free honeymoon trip to Malaysia. It did not mention where in Saudi Arabia the wedding took place.
