TV presenter cries on air for Palestinian prisoner

A female presenter at the Saudi MBC satellite TV channel cried on air as she read a letter sent by a Palestinian prisoner in Israel.

Lujain Omran could not stop crying as she read the letter sent by Kamal Sami Shahlo, who said he has been in an Israeli prison for nearly seven years.

A YouTube film published by the Kuwaiti Arabic language daily Alanba showed Omran wiping her eyes with a tissue while her voice rattled as she continued to read the letter, which was shown on air during the one-hour programme she presents daily.

“We always follow your programme inside the prison and we express our thanks for your concern about us,” Shahlo said in his letter. “We need you to give us hope and strengthen our morale inside Israeli jails.”
