JAPAN, Tokyo: A powerful typhoon smashed into Japan on Wednesday and headed for the stricken Fukushima nuclear plant, where workers raced to protect buildings and reactors that are leaking radiation. Traffic and pedestrians in Tokyo were affected by extreme weather.
