Video: Stolen iPhone 5 boots up before launch

Here we go again… This time, it seems that a ‘trusted hand’ at Foxconn, Apple’s stable-mate in China, has nicked the about-to-be released iPhone 5 out of the Chinese factory.

According to the Made-in-China blog MICGadget.com, a tipster told Chinese tech media Vgooo.com that he “accidentally” discovered the iPhone 5 prototype when he made a visit to his friend at Foxconn’s factory in Jincheng.

The Chinese tipster goes on to claim that, when he finally got his hands on arguably the world’s most awaited smartphone, he could feel the phone is thinner (that’s news, eh?), and it is indeed taller (stop press, mate!). He quickly took some photos, and a video.

Check out the video which he uploaded on YouTube – as you’ll notice in the comments that follow on the video-sharing website, a lot of folks are unimpressed with the 41-second-mark in the video, which they believe reveals that the video is a fake. Is the boot up video real or fake? We are not sure – you decide.

In any case, it is still fascinating to see the device in the video could not be activated, where it says: “This device is not registered as part of the iPhone Developer Program. If you are a member of the program, please register your device in the @@url@@.” Interesting.
