Child gets her weight in cash on first birthday

A Kuwaiti girl received a unique present on her first birthday – cash notes equivalent to her weight, according to newspapers in the oil-rich Gulf emirate.

Zahra, the daughter of the retired Kuwaiti actress Shahd, was given the present by her grandfather at a party held in her home in Thailand, where she lives.

Newspapers said the present included nine million Thai baht, nearly Dh950,000.
