Escalator accident: Girl slips and falls from third floor [video]

A five-year-old girl fell from the third floor of a shopping mall while she was playing on the escalator. The girl was accompanied by her aunt, when suddenly her feet slipped and she fell through the gap. While her aunt tried to save her by pulling her hand, but she could not stop her fall.

This incident took place in a shopping centre in Novy Urengoy, Russia, reports Daily Mail.

When the incident occurred, the aunt had been standing next to the escalator and talking on the phone and was allegedly not paying much attention to the girl.

According to eyewitnesses, the aunt suffered a nervous breakdown immediately after seeing her niece falling from the third floor.
 
The child was taken to the hospital and the doctors were able to save her life. The doctors said that the child was lucky that she didn’t suffer from serious injuries and only sustained minor bruises.
