Rat has shawarma at a GCC restaurant

A large rat was caught on camera climbing a shawarma skewer at a popular Saudi restaurant before it settled on the meat for a meal.

A short YouTube film published by the Saudi Arabic language daily Sabq showed the rodent took its time in deciding where to have the first bite in the absence of any worker at the restaurant in the Western Saudi town of Taif.

The paper said the film was sent to the town council, which later sent inspectors to fine and shut down the restaurant.
