According to a woman who was employed by Nasa in the 1970s, two human beings were seen walking towards the Viking lander (the grandfather of today’s Mars Curiosity Rover) across the Martian surface
Some media outlets have termed it as "the most monumental cover-up in space history in 1979", reports the UK-based daily Metro.
The woman recounted all that occurred on that fateful day as she was handling downlink telemetry from the lander as she and six colleagues were simultaneously watching the proceedings on multiple screens. She said: "The old Viking rover was running around. Then I saw two men in space suits – not the bulky suits we normally used, but they looked protective. They came over the horizon walking to the Viking Explorer."
Many UFO and conspiracy websites have taken up this up to prove their 'there's life out there' theories.
