World's biggest kite...
Fails to soar at Bristol festival.
The biggest kite ever flown took to the skies yesterday – but failed to capture a world record.
The kite, which owned by the Al Farsi family from Kuwait, is the shape of a manta ray.
It has a wingspan of 180ft when laid out flat, is 130ft long and has a 260ft tail.
Its lifting area is 12,916 sq ft and it had to be tethered to the ground by two vehicles before taking off at the Bristol International Kite Festival.
