New Delhi: Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday urged citizens and businesses to conserve fuel and revive work-from-home practices to reduce petrol and diesel consumption as rising global energy prices put pressure on the country’s foreign exchange reserves.
Modi said individuals and companies should prioritise a return to remote work and online meetings, practices widely adopted during the COVID-19 pandemic, noting that such measures would benefit the country.
He added that high global fuel prices require India to reduce consumption to conserve foreign exchange by lowering petrol and diesel use.
