The Qatari Amiri Diwan announced on Sunday the death of former Emir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani at the age of 74.

Doha: The Amiri Diwan of the State of Qatar has announced the death of His Highness the Father Emir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al-Thani on Sunday morning, July 12, 2026, at the age of 74.

In a statement carried by Qatar News Agency (QNA), the Amiri Diwan said, "May Allah have mercy on his soul and grant him the best reward for what he achieved for his homeland and nation."
