Bolton Wanderers are eyeing a potential bid for Liverpool striker David Ngog, according to 'The Sun'.

The 22-year-old French striker is wanted by manager Owen Coyle, who believes he can obtain his services for around €3.4 million – half the amount Anfield priced him at last year.

Moves for primary transfer targets Jeffren and Daniel Sturridge have reportedly fallen through, leading to the Frenchman becoming their priority striker.

The Trotters were unable to convince Jeffren to move away from Barcelona, despite having agreed a €5.8m fee for the much lauded 23-year-old.

Any move for Sturridge – whom Coyle managed to loan for the latter half of last season – looks unlikely as new Chelsea coach Andre Villas-Boas is thought to want to watch the Englishman at close quarters next season.
