385 ministry staff, families to perform Umrah

General Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, has ordered a plane to carry 385 staff of the Ministry of Interior and their families to perform Umrah.

The instructions were followed up by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Lt. General Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan. Upon the arrival at the King Abdul Aziz Airport in Jeddah, the delegation was received at the VIP lounge by Ahmed Mohammed Manqoosh, UAE Consul-General in Jeddah and other officials.

Brig. Hammed Adeel Al Shamsi, head of the permanent committee for pilgrimage and Umrah at the ministry, said this gesture reflects keenness of Sheikh Mohammed to enable the staff of the ministry and their families to perform their spiritual rituals during Ramadan to bolster faith and Islamic religious values.

For their part, the staff applauded the gesture of Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed for allocating special plane to airlift them to the Holy Lands to perform Umrah.
