Saudi rescue teams working underground for nearly 12 days finally located a dead woman who fell into a deep water well and plucked the body which was in a sitting position, local newspapers said on Sunday.

The teams from the civil defence and other departments had to dig an adjacent well to reach the body of the Saudi woman, who plunged nearly 50 metres into the well in the central town of Taif, they said.
“After a search of 12 days, the body was found…it was in a sitting position and was not decomposed,” Kabar newspaper said.
The 30-year-old woman, identified as Umm Kadi, was strolling with her friends in a farm near her house in Taif at the start of the year when she stepped on a thin metal covering the well and plunged to her death, according to Saudi press reports.
Her husband had called for the search to be stopped and the well sealed to turn it into her grave. But her father insisted on finding the body to determine the cause of her death.
