Apple is not just going curved but is also planning two bigger devices for 2014 in what is a clear attempt to take on rival Samsung.

Apple is planning to come out with its next iPhone with a curved glass and a 5.5 inch display next year.

Bloomberg first reported about the latest move from Apple planning to launch two new models – a 4.7-inch model and a 5.5-inch phablet sized device.

Both Samsung and LG have already launched their curved devices in the market.

Samsung was the first to announce the Galaxy Round with a 5.7-inch Amoled screen and powered by Snapdragon 800 processor. The smartphone has a curve that is more vertical with a 1080 pixel HD display, 13 MP camera, a 32GB built-in memory expandable to 64GB and 3GB RAM.

LG’s G Flex on the other hand has a more horizontal curve but is slightly bigger than the Samsung Round with a 6-inch screen with a 720P display, a 13 MP camera, a 2.26GHz quad-core Snapdragon 800 processor, 2GB of RAM. LG has priced its device at around $940 and is already on sale in South Korea.

LG’s G Flex is also considered more flexible of the two. The YouTube video demonstrates how the phone is not just curved but can actually be bended, thanks to its flexible battery.

The Samsung phone on the other hand has a solid battery, making it just a curved model.
