Du offers 'free' data to its prepaid customers

UAE telecom operator du is offering free data of up to 750MB for prepaid customers who commit to a monthly minimum spend.

All customers have to do is spend at least Dh50 every ten days in making calls.

Data cost otherwise on du is priced at Dh50 for a 100MB and Dh100 for a 1GB package.

The company’s new Call for Data allows prepaid customers, including those with 050 and 056 number prefixes who recently migrated using the number portability to receive 250MB of data whenever they spend AED50 or more with More Time or More Data recharge within a span of 10 days.

“In order to get permanently free data, customers simply need to spend that minimum every 10 days!” the company said in a statement.

To activate the Call for Data offer, free of charge, customers with prepaid mobiles can dial *135*22#, and follow the instructions. Usage will be calculated immediately and the 10 day interval will begin as soon as the offer is activated. Subscribed customers will receive SMS notifications on the status of their free data. Any free data not consumed within the 10 day period will be lost.

The company had recently launched two other offers - the Super Minutes promotion, which gives pre-paid customers 60 minutes of free talktime just for recharging their line, and Answer for Free Credit, through which customers receive free credit every time they answer their phone!

Etisalat has a mobile prepaid data pla starting at an unlimited package for Dh5 every day and a 100MB plan for Dh20 valid for seven days and Dh29 valid for a month. For Dh99 you can get 1GB data vaild for a month.
