“Customers wishing to own the new HTC One smartphone, with a competitive data offer from du, can visit any du Shop between 18-24 April to pre-book the LTE-enabled 4G model, available in silver colour,” it noted in a media statement today.
A non-refundable pre-booking fee of Dh200 is payable, and will be deducted from the device price later. The price of the 4G HTC One smartphone is Dh2,699.
That price-point makes it more expensive than all other new smartphones available in the market today: the iPhone 5 (starting at Dh2,599), BlackBerry Z10 (Dh2,599) and Sony Xperia Z (Dh2,499), while making it much more expensive than the Samsung Galaxy S3 (starting Dh1,899).

du, for one, will be hoping that they do. “We are thrilled to be the official launch partner for the HTC One in the UAE, giving our customers the exclusive opportunity to be the first in the country to own the smartphone. Our 4G LTE network will allow them to enjoy the full features of the HTC One as they were designed to be experienced,” said Farid Faraidooni, Chief Commercial Officer, du.
