Samsung S4 prices drop in UAE, discount on S5

Online retailers in the UAE have slashed prices of Galaxy S4 following the launch of Samsung's new flagship smartphone, Galaxy S5.

The discounts offered by various online retailers range between 30 and 40 per cent.

The Galaxy S4 16GB LTE (4G) i9505 is now selling for Dh1,448 on digicost.com. On alshop.com, the smartphone is selling for Dh1,469, while crazydeals.ae is offering it for Dh1,449.

The online retailers are assuring delivery on the same day.

Although brick and mortar stores are offering discounts, prices remain far higher than online retailers. After discounts, S4 sells for between Dh1,999 and Dh2,200 in brick and mortar stores.

Well, if that’s not enough, alshop.com is even offering a 7 per cent discount on Samsung Galaxy S5.

The portal is selling the smartphone, priced elsewhere at Dh2,699, for Dh2499, a discount of just over 7 per cent.

Samsung launched S5 last week in 125 global markets, with plans to add 25 additional markets in the next few days, compared to Galaxy S4 being launched in only 60 markets in 2013.

According to media reports, S5 has set a new record for the company by surpassing the first day sales of the S4 by more than 30 per cent. Samsung has sold more than 40 million Galaxy S4s - one of its most successful devices.
