Smartphone prices slashed by Dh600 in du promotion

If you thought Gitex Shopper offered you the best deals on smartphones, think again. UAE telecom provider du has slashed prices further with a Dh600 discount on smartphones when you opt for any of their postpaid plans.

The offer enables a buyer to opt for a Samsung Galaxy S6 for Dh1,999, HTC One M9 for Dh2,149 and a 16GB iPhone 6 Plus for Dh2,549. An iPhone 6 with a similar configuration which could have been priced at Dh2,149 is out of stock.

Du had a similar plan running during the just concluded Gitex Shopper where customers opting for a postpaid plan were offered a Dh400 discount on smartphones.

Limited period offer is valid on Smart Plans and Emirati Plans above Dh250 with a 12 month contract. It is however not valid for business customers or on Pay As You Go and Easy Social plans. If you cancel before 12 months, a fee of Dh50 will apply for the remaining months.

Customers will have to provide a valid UAE national ID or passport (with visa for expatriates) and additionally for a new postpaid plan purchase, the customer must provide either a copy of the latest utility bill with physical address, a valid salary certificate or pay slip or bank statement (showing minimum monthly pay of Dh2,500 or Dh15,000 for plans with monthly commitment above Dh600 and a valid UAE credit copy or credit card statement. The du offer is valid on all smartphones priced above Dh1,500.

Etisalat had last month launched a similar promotion where smartphone were sold at discounted prices.

The Etisalat offer from March 18 to March 31was aimed at Wasel prepaid mobile customers, who could get the 16 GB iPhone 6 for Dh2,149.

Etisalat also had a promotion during Gitex Shopper Spring, where users could get an iPhone 6 and 6 Plus with no down payment but with Dh200 and Dh250 added to the monthly subscription with a minimum commitment of 16 months.
