Xbox fans ready to switch? PS4 ups game

“The internal design architecture of the PS4 system, from the optical drive and power supply unit to the cooling mechanism, has been pursed to keep the body as slim and light as possible to dramatically enhance the flexibility of the design.

“The PS4 features a simple but modern design accentuated by its linear flat form factors,” an announcement on Sony’s website in Japan said.
The surface of the PS4 body is subdivided into four sections, as if four blocks are stacked together making one figure, with disc slot, buttons, power indicator and vent placed within the -2-2-2 PS4

The power indicator designed atop the body will glow in a PlayStation blue color when the power button is turned on.
The foreside and backside of the body is slightly angled; it not only gives users easy access to the power button and disc slot when placed either horizontally or vertically but also helps conceal the connected cables.

PS4 peripherals include the stand-alone Wireless Controller for PlayStation4 and PlayStation Camera, which will be available at launch for US$ 59.
Both accessories will come in ‘Jet Black’ colour.

UPDATE: No sooner did Sony unveil its PlayStation 4, than Amazon had already launched preorders for the $399 gaming console.

An advertisement featuring the new devise went up on its website within minutes of the launch today. Sony announced that the PlayStation 4 will be available “this holiday season”, and Amazon went one step further and says it will be out on December 31.

According to the online link for Preorder the PS4 will be released on the last day of 2013 and can be delivered to addresses in specific locations within the United States on the same day.

“Release-Date delivery is available in checkout when both the item and your delivery address are eligible,” the amazon website states.
Release-date delivery will only be available for eligible a shipping address which can be found during the check out.

Sony has just unveiled its latest PlayStation, the fourth in the series, at a 'live' event at the Electronic Entertainment Expo, the gaming industry's annual trade show in Los Angeles.

The PS4 will launch for $399 cheaper by $100 compared to the Xbox and should be out “This holiday season.”

One of the biggest retail entertainment battles this year is clearly going to be the PS4 versus Microsoft’s Xbox One.

The Xbox One’s early debut this year had gamers drooling in anticipation, but now, for the first time gamers can get a look at what the PS4 is all about.

The early reports from Vegas is that Sony will price the console at $399.

Many popular series including Final Fantasy XV, Kingdom Hearts III and Transistor will be coming to PS4, even as the company announced that it plans to come out with exclusive and original content, made specifically for PlayStation and by Sony Studios.

According to Shu Yoshida, president of Sony Worldwide Studios more than 30 PS4 games are in development and will be ready by the time PS4 hits the market.

Among the other forthcoming releases are The Dark Sorcerer, InFamous: Second Son, The Order: 1866, Drive Club and Killzone: Shadow Fall Sony' announced that its gaming division accounted for less than 10 per cent of its overall revenue last financial year accounting to $7.5bn worth of sales.
