After what seems like a long time in tech terms, Adobe has finally rolled out a version of its tablet-based Photoshop Touch for even smaller screens, Photoshop Touch for phone.
Photoshop Touch is now available in a version specifically built for phones, Following up on the very popular tablet version, Photoshop Touch for phone is available on the Apple App Store and Google Play for $4.99 (Dh18).
The big question – after you answer what took Adobe so long to bring the full power of Photoshop to your smartphone – is this: do you really need the full version on your phone? I mean, can you really composite up to 16 layers on a 5-inch screen with your two-finger design capabilities?
Oh, and by the way, the all-powerful Photoshop wil be available in its full glory on the iOS (iPhones) and Android (Samsung Galaxy series, HTC One and alls, Motorola Droids, etc.) but not Windows (Nokia Lumina etc.).
Until now, Adobe mobile Photoshop strategy kept more heavyweight editing to tablets with Photoshop Touch, and left the likes of the iPhone and the Galaxy S3s with Photoshop Express.
Today, however, the company officially released Photoshop Touch for iPhone and Android smartphones, which inherits virtually all of the functionality of the more powerful tablet app, with an interface tailored to the smaller screens.
“Much like the tablet version, Photoshop Touch on the phone has core Photoshop features like layers, advanced selections tools, adjustments and filters. We also packed in features exclusive to Photoshop Touch, like Scribble Selection for high-precision selections using only your finger, and Camera Fill for real-time creative blending of your camera feed with layers. This app features the same creative filters as the tablet version, like Color Drops and Acrylic Paint, and also a new Ripple filter,” Adobe said on its blog.
Have fun!
