Organisers of the Abu Dhabi Electronics Shopper (ADE Shopper) expect the number of exhibitors and visitor numbers are set to grow by almost 100 per cent in 2014 as many more retailers have shown interest to participate in the expo this year.

In fact, Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Company (Adnec) – the organisers of ADE Shopper has advanced the event by almost two weeks following a demand by leading participants and keeping in mind the trend among shoppers.

Donny Cyril, Exhibition Director of ADE Shopper, told Emirates 24l7 that the key factors that influenced them to shift the dates from mid-March to start on February 26 is the buying pattern of visitors.

“We have a very specific focus – consumers. Our retail partners wanted us to shift the dates to time it along with the salary dates here,” said Cyril.

According to him Samsung and Huawei have tied up with Adnec as strategic partners for the ADE Shopper. “We are expecting more companies to join hands.”

He said retailers including Emax and Sharaf DG are expanding the floor space. “The number of exhibitors and floor space have doubled this year. While last year we saw about 68,000 visitor with sales of up to Dh25 million, we are hoping to exceed 110,000 million visitors and double sales in 2014,” he added.

With several new announcements and launches at the CES, Cyril hopes ADE shopper will provide the best opportunity for companies to showcase their new products in the UAE.

“Last year we saw Sharp exhibiting its biggest TV ever at our show here and for the first time in the country. This year we are expecting many more similar new products,” he added.
