Consumer electronics and household appliances manufacturer Elekta Gulf has reported a 30 per cent increase in business in 2014, driven by increase in sales of smart television sets and high-end tablet PCs.

“Apart from the introduction of these new products, we continued to offer them at a very low price compared to other manufacturers – that drove the customers to Elekta,” said Rajan Mathrani, managing director of Elekta Gulf.

“Quality does not always have to come with a price. We have broken that myth by offering quality products at an affordable price,” he added.

According to the Business Monitor International (BMI), the UAE’s consumer electronics devices market, defined as the market for computing devices, audio, video, mobile handsets and gaming products, is projected to grow by 26 per cent $3.4 billion in 2011 to $4.3 billion by 2015.
