Emirates airline and the Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP) have elevated their partnership announcing Emirates Airline as the Premier Partner of the ATP World Tour from 2016.

The five-year agreement represents the biggest sponsorship deal in the history of the ATP, the governing body of the men's professional tennis circuits - the ATP World Tour, the ATP Challenger Tour and the ATP Champions Tour.

As Official Airline and Premier Partner of the ATP World Tour, Emirates will benefit from global marketing rights delivering a powerful and consistent presence via the tour’s net branding across 60 tournaments in 29 countries in six continents, and a cumulative global broadcast audience in excess of 800 million. With 4.3 million fans attending on-site and more than 880 million TV viewers across the season, the tour has attracted record audiences in recent years.

The partnership also provides a platform across the tournaments for fans and guests to experience Emirates’ hospitality onsite, and participate in extensive activation through the Tour’s official website ATPWorldTour.com, the No.1 tennis portal in the world with over 325M visits a year.

"Emirates is pleased to enhance its partnership with the ATP World Tour. For Emirates, the global reach offered by sponsoring the ATP World Tour affords us the opportunity to connect and engage with millions of tennis fans around the globe. Emirates offers direct flights to nearly 90 per cent of the 32 countries visited by the ATP World Tour making this partnership particularly relevant for our customers. Tennis truly is an international sport and it is our own appreciation of this sport that has been the catalyst behind our growing tennis sponsorship portfolio,’ said Boutros Boutros, Emirates Divisional Senior Vice President Corporate Communications, Marketing and Brand.

“It says a lot about where we are as a sport that an industry leader in Emirates, such a highly regarded and well established player in the sports marketing world, has chosen to further increase its presence and association with the ATP World Tour," said Chris Kermode, ATP Executive Chairman and President. "The partnership provides a long term commitment and a true vote of confidence for the future health of our sport. We look forward to continuing and developing the successful partnership we have built over the years."

The 2015 ATP World Tour season, due to culminate this Sunday at the Barclays ATP World Tour Finals at The O2 in London, is currently tracking to hit an all-time annual attendance record.

Emirates has been a platinum partner of the ATP World Tour since 2013, as well as title sponsor of the Emirates ATP Rankings. Sunday’s announcement sees Emirates replace Corona as the Tour’s Premier Partner following the expiration of the agreement with the Mexican beer brand at the end of this year.

Emirates’ tennis portfolio includes some of the highest profile events on the tennis calendar, including the Grand Slams the Australian Open, Roland Garros and the US Open, the Emirates Airline US Open Series, the Australian Open Series,  the ATP rankings, the Dubai Tennis Championships (UAE), Barcelona Open (ESP) and Rogers Cup (CAN).

Emirates increases capacity to Jeddah to thrice-daily A380 service

Emirates on Sunday announced an additional four flights a week to Jeddah, starting on December 14.

The increased frequency will now enable Emirates’ customers travelling to and from Jeddah to choose from three flights per day. All three daily flights will be operated by a three-class A380.

"Saudi Arabia is a major market for Emirates and its importance is reflected by the fact that we will now operate three flights a day to Jeddah with our popular A380 aircraft. This is tremendous news for both our business and leisure customers and highlights our commitment to providing travellers in Jeddah, with not only the very latest in aircraft innovations, but also increased connectivity," said Sheikh Majid Al Mualla, Emirates’ Divisional Senior Vice President, Commercial Operations West.

The additional flights will operate on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Saturdays, bringing the total number of weekly flights to Jeddah to 21.

Emirates flight EK801 will depart Dubai at 01.40 hours and arrive in Jeddah at 03.40 hours the same day. The return flight, EK802 will depart Jeddah at 05.40 hours and arrive in Dubai at 09.30 hours the same day.

Emirates’ First Class and Business Class passengers will also benefit from complimentary chauffeur-driven service to and from the airport, along with access to more than 35 Emirates lounges around the world.

Emirates serves Saudi Arabia with 63 flights a week via four gateways, Jeddah, Riyadh, Dammam and Al Medinah al Munawarah. This will increase to 67 flights a week from December 14 with the additional services to Jeddah. All flights are non-stop to Dubai where passengers can experience Emirates’ industry leading Terminal 3 and travel seamlessly onwards across the airline’s 149 destination network.

Emirates has been operating in the Kingdom for more than 26 years, first launching flights to Jeddah in 1989. The airline was the first to introduce an A380 into KSA by upgrading Jeddah to a double decker service in 2010.
