QX80 drives up Infiniti ME sales

Infiniti Motor Company sales increased 31 per cent to 1,524 units across the Middle East in the first quarter of its 2014 financial year ended on June 30, the carmaker said in a press statement.

The auto major sold 1,163 vehicles in the same quarter last year.

In the month of June 2014, it sold 506 vehicles as compared to 434 in the same month last year.

In Q1 2014, Infiniti’s line-up of SUVs contributed to over 67 per cent of total sales volume, with the QX60 and the QX70 remaining Infiniti’s core models, it said.

The QX80 achieved an all-time record in Q1 2014, with an increase of 44 per cent in sales. The QX50 also had a successful first quarter and became one of the most popular models in its class, with a 150 per cent rise in sales, said the carmaker.

Headquartered in Hong Kong, Infiniti has sales operations in approximately 50 countries.

It has manufacturing facilities in Japan and the United States. Production in China and Europe will start soon along with the expansion of the brand’s portfolio, the statement noted.
