According to a study by American company Global SWF and published by British magazine FDI Intelligence, the United Arab Emirates (UAE) held three positions in the top ten most active sovereign investment funds in 2022.
The Abu Dhabi Investment Authority (ADIA) ranked second on the list, with a total investment of $25.9 billion, an increase of 140% from 2021.
The study also noted that Gulf state sovereign investment funds have been increasing their investment activities in 2022, in contrast to the trend of declining performance among other sovereign funds due to global economic challenges.
The most active global sovereign fund in 2022 was Singapore's GIC, with a total activity of $39.1 billion, an increase of 13.3% from 2021. The study highlighted that Gulf sovereigns accounted for half of the top ten most active funds in the world in 2022.
