Dr Rashid Ahmed bin Fahad, UAE Minister of Environment and Water, has affirmed country's keenness to host Expo 2020 as part of the efforts to boost its stature in the international arena which represents a key element of ''UAE Vision 2021''.
He also pointed out that UAE's bid to host the global event before the celebration of the golden jubilee of the union is an important sign to achieve the ambitious vision.
He added that UAE in general and Dubai in particular enjoy a high stature globally in addition to their potentials and all other factors of success that will make this international event successful by all standards.
He pointed out that Dubai has always proved its abilities in holding international events successfully.
He explained that what is available in the UAE can rarely be found in any place especially security, infrastructure, advanced technology, logistics and distinguished organisational capabilities. It has the ability to manage large crowds of exhibitors and visitors which is expected to throng at Expo 2020.
Referring to World Expo 2020 theme, "Connecting Minds, Building the Future’, he said the choice confirms UAE's keenness and commitment in rallying efforts of the international community for creative solutions, enhancing opportunities to achieve prosperity and welfare for all human communities and make a better future for the coming generations, stressing that visitors to the Expo will see a vivid model of future industry in Dubai.
He also called upon all the community institutions and individuals to support UAE's bid for Expo 2020.
