Al Tayer Motors, one of the UAE’s premier automobile dealerships and official Maserati importer-dealer, has seen an increase in overall sales of the Trident marque by more than 44 per cent in 2013 over 2012.

Maserati sales were driven primarily by the luxury and sport segments with the all-new sixth generation Quattroporte, which was launched in the UAE in early 2013, and the GranTurismo range.

Meanwhile the Maserati Ghibli, the brand’s new entrant in the E-segment of the premium sports car market, has arrived at the showrooms of Al Tayer Motors in Dubai and Premier Motors’, the official dealer in Abu Dhabi.

The Maserati Ghibli is an entirely new car from the Italian manufacturer and is an important model in the Trident marque’s plan to build 50,000 cars a year by 2015, with the Middle East forming a key market to reach this eightfold rise in production.

“We begin 2014 with the much awaited Ghibli, which makes this historic Italian brand more accessible to motoring enthusiasts. Maserati combines the right blend of motor racing heritage, luxury and performance with inimitable design, which is among the many reasons that the brand enjoys so much appeal in the UAE. Interest in the Ghibli is extremely high and we are confident it will spur Maserati towards achieving its goals,” said Hossam Hosni, General Manager Luxury Auto, Al Tayer Motors.

The Ghibli is available in the UAE with a starting price of AED 285,000, which is inclusive of a three years or 60,000km full service package, and three years warranty with unlimited mileage, making it a superb value proposition. Deliveries of the Ghibli, which have just begun, are expected to grow rapidly over the coming months. Maserati’s flagship, the Quattroporte, comes with the same service and warranty package, starting from Dh410,000.

The Ghibli

The sports executive sedan combines fascinating design with exceptional handling and outstanding performance. Both versions of the petrol range, Ghibli and Ghibli S, feature a new-generation twin turbo-charged 3.0-litre V6 engine. With its power output of 410 hp the Ghibli S races to 100 km/h in 5.0 seconds and reaches a top speed of 285 km/h. The Ghibli delivers 330 hp, a top speed of 263 km/h and an acceleration of 0 to 100 km/h in 5.6 seconds.

Dynamic and precise handling is guaranteed by the car’s perfectly balanced 50:50 weight distribution while the sophisticated Maserati Skyhook suspension system and limited slip differential, novel in its class, make every ride even more enjoyable.

While the Ghibli features all classic Maserati design traits, its exterior emphasizes its determined personality. The pronounced grille draws a line back to the iconic A6 GCS of the 1950s. The headlights add noticeable feline hints to the front, while their shape converges onto the Trident symbol, with every angle designed to attract the eye to Maserati’s legendary marque.

The distinctive C-pillar delivers much of the Ghibli’s coupé-like stance and hosts the classical Saetta Maserati logo. The side profile is dominated by a character line that emerges from the three unmistakable Maserati air vents behind the front wheels and finishes in the rear lights themselves.

The Ghibli enters the market with a tangible advantage in cabin craftsmanship and detailing. It also sets itself apart with a unique, cockpit-inspired dashboard design that perfectly matches its sporty and youthful character without compromising on the highest level of refinement and sophistication. Key elements such as the 8.4" Maserati Touch Control and the fine Poltrona Frau® leather finish underline the cabin’s timeless sporting character. Optional features include the 15-speaker Bowers & Wilkins high end audio system, WLAN based WiFi and a wide range of customization options that cater for the most demanding individuals.
