In a humanitarian act, Noor Islamic Bank (Noor) announced a waiver on all remittance charges for clients wishing to send money to relatives in the Philippines, in the wake of the Super Typhoon Haiyan.

In addition, the UAE’s premier Islamic bank has said that any of its corporate clients wishing to donate funds to the Philippines relief effort will have the processing charges waived.

The decision to waive remittance and processing charges will remain in place until December 31, 2013. Individuals and organisations must have a Noor bank account to take advantage of the zero charges.

Super Typhoon Haiyan was one of the most powerful storms to hit the Philippines. It has been estimated that more than four million people have been displaced by the catastrophe.
