The UAE and the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) signed in Paris on Friday a memorandum of understanding (MoU) related to developing and understanding the Mena countries’ international tax agreements for the years 2010 to 2012.

The MoU was signed on the sidelines of 15th Annual Conference of the OECD held in Paris on September 23 and 24.

The UAE's official delegation to the conference was led by Director General of the Ministry of Finance, Younis Haji Al Khoori.

Representing UAE, Al Khouri signed the MoU while Jeffrey Owens, Director of the Centre for Tax Policy and Administration, represented the OECD in signing agreement.

Members of the UAE delegation Khalid Ali Al Bustani, Executive Director of International Financial Relations Sector at Ministry of Finance, Majid Ali Omran, Director of International Financial Relations Department, Dr Hamed Nasr, Economist at the Ministry of Finance and Rashid bin Kalban, Director of Legal Affairs at Abu Dhabi Investment Authority, were present at the signing ceremony.

The two parties had signed earlier a similar MoU for the years 2007 to 2009 that dealt with organising workshops focused on best global practices for building strong tax networks in Mena region through the UAE centre.
