In 2009, the UAE spent $2.89 billion on iron and steel rods, jewellery, petroleum and semi-finished products of steel and iron imports from Turkey, while earning $291 million from exports in gold, unprocessed aluminum, jewellery, chemical substances and petroleum to Turkey, excluding oil exports, according to Istanbul Chamber of Commerce (ICOC).

Twenty exhibitors from Turkish private sector will be taking part in the 25th edition of International Autumn Trade Fair (IATF), taking place from December 13 to 15, 2010, at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre as part of a national pavilion under the umbrella of ICOC.

Each year, ICOC - one of the largest chambers of commerce in the world with more than 300,000 active members - hosts more than 70 foreign trade delegations, organises around 20 fairs and exhibitions and more than 100 informative meetings, conferences, seminars and events. ICOC aims to help increase the volume of Turkey's exports while boosting trade relations between Turkey and the United Arab Emirates.

The three-day Autumn Fair is a leading regional buyer-seller meeting ground for the consumer goods segment. The exhibition, ranked as one of the more popular general trade fairs in the region running in its successful 25th year, will occupy 13,000 square meters of space.

Satish Khanna, General Manager of Al Fajer Information and Services, said: "This year, the fair will host the official national pavilions of eight countries, occupying 80 per cent of exhibition space. The national pavilions include 225 exhibitors from China, 35 from Hong Kong, 10 from Singapore, 45 from Korea, 15 from Iran, 20 from Turkey, 40 from India and 15 from Malaysia. India and Turkey are coming for the first time as official pavilion. Other countries participating at IATF10 at individual levels include Indonesia, UAE, Taiwan, Italy, Pakistan and Japan."

IATF10 will unveil an exciting mix of products comprising cosmetics, foodstuffs, electronics, household appliances, plastic household products, toys, stationery, electrical items, handicrafts, carpets, garments, textiles, house ware, kitchen ware, sanitary ware, novelties, machinery, machine tools, hardware accessories and diary products.
