Central Bank of the UAE announced that the statistics of the UAESwitch for the 4th quarter of 2011 have shown the total number of transactions has increased to 19.441 million, compared to 18.231m transactions in the 3rd quarter of 2011, i.e. an increase of 6.63 per cent.
Also, the total value of financial transactions increased to Dh21.429 billion in the 4th quarter of 2011, compared to AED 20.427 billion in the 3rd quarter of 2011, i.e. an increase of 4.90 per cent.
The total number and value of financial transactions carried-out through connection of the UAESwitch to the GCC Switches, decreased to 867,000 transactions in the 4th quarter, compared to 940,000 transactions in the 3rd quarter of 2011, i.e. a fall of 7.76 per cent.
The total value of financial transactions also decreased to Dh1.178bn compared to Dh1.237bn in the 3rd quarter of 2011, i.e. a decrease of 4.77 per cent.
